COVID 19

HomeNet South Asia’s 'Impact of COVID-19 on Women Home-Based Workers in South Asia (Round 2)'  is the second round of investigation into the impact of the continuing crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic on women home-based workers (HBWs) in South Asia.

The second round of the Study continues its exploration of the status of women home-based workers in South Asia – shedding light on access to work and relief, earnings, and growing indebtedness. It has allowed for HNSA to extend the period of impact assessment and the current report covers the period from February 2020 to August 2021

Twelve locations in seven South Asian countries have been covered with the participation of 444 home-based workers from thirteen women home-based workers organisations.

The first round of this investigation was completed in the second half of 2020. Both rounds of the Study have been supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
