Ms. Tshering  serves on the Board of HNSA as one of its Trustees/Members. She is the Chairperson of the Board of SABAH Bhutan which is a registered CSO working to support and enhance the livelihoods of women home-based workers across Bhutan. SABAH Bhutan’s work involves upgradation, development and diversification of the skills, knowledge and  products of women HBWs whilst facilitating to expand the market for their products and help with marketing perse.

She has a long and extensive experience of working in the area of women empowerment with a particular focus on social, economic and political empowerment. As a former civil servant and Gender and Development  professional in later years, she has worked at all levels of governance and development at national, regional and international levels. Since 2012, she is actively engaged in running the Bhutan Network for Empowering Women (BNEW) to fulfil its mandate of empowering women in leadership, governance and politics. The work of BNEW to mobilise, motivate and facilitate women’s participation and representation in leadership, allowed her to travel to all nooks and corners of Bhutan many times to meet rural women.Ms. Tshering also serves as the Honorary Consul of The Kingdom of The Netherlands in Bhutan.
